ASSIST project marks EU Anti-Trafficking Day 2019
Marking EU Anti-Trafficking Day we’d like to pay tribute to the warrior women and girls we have the privilege of supporting in our work.
Currently, the Immigrant Council is part of a dedicated team with five partner organisations across the European Union, working tirelessly to provide specialised, women-focused support to trafficked migrant women.
Ensuring they have established legal status, access to language training and sensitive, wrap-around supports to try and mitigate the trauma they have faced is just some of the support we provide. They are all necessary steps in the road to help ensure these women, who have been exploited in the worst way imaginable, can navigate the path back to living full lives in their communities. We are proud to be here to provide this support.
Funded under the EC AMIF programme, our initiative “ASSIST - Gender Specific Legal Assistance and Integration Support for Third Country National Female Victims of Trafficking for Sexual Exploitation” has been making change in the life of migrant women recovering from sexual exploitation and trafficking.
