Information Officer/Caseworker
Prior to joining the Immigrant Council, Niamh was a Visiting Scholar at the Centre for Immigration Law and Policy at the UCLA School of Law. As PhD Candidate at the Irish Centre for Human Rights, University of Galway, Niamh has conducted research on EU migration policy, access to asylum and border violence at Greece’s maritime border. She has lectured in middle eastern studies and human rights law at Trinity College Dublin and at the University of Galway. Niamh has been involved in legal advocacy work drawing on her academic and investigative research, including a number of submissions to the ECtHR challenging systematic pushbacks of asylum seekers in the Aegean Sea.
